Sir,
Foreign Office, August 6, 1910. I AM directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to thank you for your letter of the 11th ultimo in regard to the participation of this country in the Opium Conference to be held at The Hague.
In reply, I am to inform you that an invitation has been received from the United States Government to attend the conference, and that the matter was referred to the Government of India and the departments of His Majesty's Government concerned, whose views have been received. "The reply to the United States Government is at present under consideration.
